RUBBER PROCESS OIL – RPO

  • Rubber Process oil is produced by Crude oil distillation process obtained from the composition and chemical interactions and isolation material extracted called Raffinate.
  • The primary characteristics is the presence of the double bonded mix ring carbon structure. Aromatic extracts procured from refineries are suitably blended to meet stringent specifications with different Viscosity. Heavy RPO is also an aromatic process oil with higher viscosity and is specifically developed for use as an extender oil in the manufacture of polystyrene butadiene rubber. This aromatic type of rubber process oil is dark in colour and has good solvency. It is compatible with most rubber polymers and suitable for use in the manufacture of automobile rubber tyres, belting, battery case etc. where colour is not an important parameter. Heavy RPO was specially developed for use in SBS rubber.
  • Residual Aromatic Extract (RAE)
    RAE is a high viscosity aromatic process oil made from a residual oil fraction. It is used as extender oils in rubber and tyres. The Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbon (PAH) content is less than 1ppm and total PAH less than 10ppm.
  • Distillate Aromatic Extract (DAE)
    DAE is an aromatic oils with a large number of aromatic cycles in their composition; they are characterized by their low aniline point and their high solvent power. They are primarily used in formulation with polar rubbers of the SBR and NR types.
  • Treated Distillate Aromatic Extract (TDAE)
    TDAE is not classified as carcinogenic as they contain a DMSO extract IP346 inferior to 3% and consequently a reduced PAH (Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbon) content. Typically by factor 20-50 lower than HA oils.
    This environment friendly process oil has wide applications in tyres, tape & rubber industries. It is used as carrier oils, plasticizer, diluents & filling agent that remain in the final product contributing to both ease of processing and improved product performance in rubber industry.
